Artist Feature: Hateruma Handmade

So on the first of every month, I’m going to feature an artist. And o…m…g… y’all, do I have one that absolutely made my night/early morning! I CANNOT wait to work on this piece, probably will work on it once I get done with this blog post!!!

The artist is Jen Hateruma, owner/creator of Hateruma Handmade. I had the opportunity to talk to her a little bit in the wee American hours/evening hours in Tokyo. Her blog gives a bio, but here’s the main points:

  • Amazing creator

  • Spectacular mother of 2 boys

  • Has a wonderful sense of humor

What could be better?

I happened to see her creation of Geoffrey Geoduck in one of my Facebook groups and just couldn’t pass it up. I just had to have the pattern. I messaged her immediately letting her know this. Which, of course, is how this all came about.

We bonded over pun-y ducks and, of course, I purchased this pattern. She is selling it for $3.00 USD! I could not pass that up. She’s got a lot of really cute patterns that I am seriously considering purchasing and have officially offered to help test out her new patterns that are going to be coming out. Just gotta get the hubby’s approval ya know haha!

Check her out!

I’m a 33-year-old college student and a talented crocheter (“hooker” in yarn lingo!). I’m celebrating one year of marriage to my amazing husband, who shares my love of creativity and adventure. We have a busy household with three cats and one dog, and in between all the chaos, I find joy in crocheting, teaching, learning, and loving. My husband is a big fan of DnD, anime, and video games, while I stay passionate about crafting and sharing my work with others.
