Frequently Asked Questions
Questions for Sara
How long does it take you to crochet each item?
It really depends on the size of the item and how fixated I am on it. For example, a small emotional support chicken only takes me 30-60 minutes from start to finish. Whereas a beholder bag will take upwards of four hours.
Why are your items so pricey?
I am happy to go into a breakdown with you as to why my items are priced as they are. Let’s take a simple item like the aforementioned small emotional support chicken. Here are the supplies and their costs:
4.00mm (or a G) hook - $3.29
Red Heart Super Saver - 0.15 x 4.49 = $0.67
The pattern - $6.00
Polyfill - 0.01 x 99.99 (a 20-lb box) = $1.00
This equals up to $7.67; but I can hear you asking, “Why are you charging $25 for the chicken?” It’s because I need to pay myself for my time, which I pay a minimum of $8 an hour for my crafting. And that brings us to $15.67. So where does the other $9.33 come in? That goes into the cost of advertising and the website. I hope that this helps!
What type of crochet items do you offer?
I offer a variety of handcrafted items, including blankets, scarves, hats, bags, and themed accessories. Custom orders are also available! I try to let people know that if I can find a pattern for it, I will give it the old college try!
Are your items machine wash and dry friendly?
Since I use mainly acrylic yarn, it is known to be durable enough to go through the washer and the dryer safely. It holds its shape well. Should I happen to use a wool mixture, it will be noted on the item with washing instructions for the longevity of the item.
What is your return policy?
Due to the handmade nature of our items, we typically do not accept returns. However, if there’s an issue with your order, please reach out, and we’ll do our best to resolve it.
