Thoughts on the future

Good morning all!

I love how the website has turned out so far; a learning experience and I’m finding out how much work goes into it.  I’ve ran different profiles such as Facebook or Etsy, but my own website is a whole other beast.  I love getting to see where people are viewing in from and what could potentially interest them.

Something that I’ve been thinking about a lot the last few days is going “physical”.  What I mean by that is obtaining an actual storefront.  How amazing would that be?!  It would be more of a haberdashery shop that would be filled with handmade items only.  I’ve honestly thought about doing something like this for a good long while now; just haven’t pulled the trigger on it.

There’s so much that goes into it, renting a space, obtaining vendors, setting prices, manning the store seven days a week, etc.  But I’m wondering if I make it more like a co-op or a guild-like shop, if that would make things easier.  I’m also wondering if I would want to go to a stand-alone building or if I would want to go into a shop space like the local mall.

And then there comes coming up with a catchy name for the space.  I know there was one that I was really wanting, but it looks like there’s already a shop with that name (though not locally).  I know there are going to be a lot of challenges for this, but I’m inspired by the possibility of it.

Thankfully, I know a couple shop owners that I can pick the brains of.  Hopefully they do not find me too intrusive with my questions.  I want this to be super successful for not only myself, but for my community and the members that would potentially be going on this adventure with me.

I think that’s it for now!  Have a beautiful Sunday!

I’m a 33-year-old college student and a talented crocheter (“hooker” in yarn lingo!). I’m celebrating one year of marriage to my amazing husband, who shares my love of creativity and adventure. We have a busy household with three cats and one dog, and in between all the chaos, I find joy in crocheting, teaching, learning, and loving. My husband is a big fan of DnD, anime, and video games, while I stay passionate about crafting and sharing my work with others.
